I wanna be a teenager again!

Spent a tired but fun day helping out (with salary of course!) as a facilitator for an amazing race organised by Hwa Chong Institution for the 13th Student Leaders Convention. I had students of various nationalities and and races in my group for example, students from India, Hong Kong and Cambodia. I felt that i had an obligation to make their outing a memorable one since i am from the host country (Need to make good impression for Singapore...haha....).

Some background info...I did participate in the Student Leaders Convention during my years in Bowen Secondary and i don't remember having any foreign students with us, making this a new experience for me! (My team: Depp/F, Tracy/F, Marion/F, Jane/F, Pal/F, Santam/F, Varnu/M, Jonathan/M, ???/M, ???/M, ???/M.) Don't ask me why i remember the girls' names better...its just...EASIER to remember girls' names..you know...english names..(hey! what do you think i meant??)

What they had to do was to do the required activities at a given station. After they had completed the activity, they were given clues to the next station. Sounds boring? Imagine running to and fro from SMU (Dhoby Ghaut) to Takashimaya (Orchard)... My team super 'Seow On' (Means enthusiastic without taking their own well-being into consideration)....Run from station to station! Furthermore, the order of the stations are organised in a manner which made the teams run to and fro from Orchard to Dhoby Ghaut... By the way, no transport were allowed.

By and large, this was the most wonderful way of earning money (although $5/hr is not alot) and i thoroughly enjoyed myself today!
Laisser les jeux commencent!

Guessing what's written on their foreheads.

A station master giving the briefing for the game.

Using their butts to write '13th SLC'

Singing 'when you have it and you know it clap your hand *clap* *clap*' and make the passer-bys clap WITHOUT telling them to clap...no mean feat..

Picking up ping pong balls from the grass patch (I assure you there are ping pong balls there although you may not see it in the picture...too small)

Climbing the 'Stairways to Heaven'

Finale. Water Bomb Competition!

POTC At Worlds End

If you are figuring out what 'POTC' is, its my short form for Pirates of the Carrabien. Went to watch it yesterday with my soccer pals. If you have not watched it, its actually a show worth watching in the cinemas rather then DVD at home. The actions and effects are great, but Chow Yun Fatt's role is just too short. (I was expecting a more significant role for the Chinese Megastar...) Shall not divulge too much... Last but not least, do wait until the credits end at the end of the show...there is a short continuation of the story......Catch it in the cinemas near you!!

Torque Magazine Super Cars!

Met up with Jason today and we went to Jane's work place at Raffles City. When we went there (its a cart shop), there were more customers coming immediately and we were joking that we were the traffic generators for the shop. Boss of the cart shop, if you are reading this, were can be employed immediately to sit at your shop to generate traffic at just $8/hr....hee hee...
While waiting for Jane to finish work, Jason told me there is a car show at Millenia Walk and so, we went there to have a look. (The pics will speak for themselves later...) We went to have some Ice-cream at Ben & Jerrys (having it for 2 days straight already...addictive...) after taking some photos of the cars. Jason was more interested in the ladies though..as usual. We went for coffee at Gloria Jeans when Jane finished work and chit chatted for a while.
Feels really great to be able to sit down with a few good friends and talk about anything under the sun, oblivious to the hustle and bustle of city life....As time would not stand still, we finally made our way back...These are the times i cherish alot as we would not know how many more times we can do this with our friends while we live our seperate lives and chase our own dreams.... You'll Never Walk Alone

Liverpool lost the champions league final to AC Milan this morning. Sad? Of course! Angry? A little...because the referee did not play the full 3 minutes of extra time and denied Liverpool a chance of equalising. But i am proud to be part of the fanbase of Liverpool FC. The fans in Athens were FANTASTIC.

Throughout the whole game, they were singing their lungs out as usual. Even when the final whistle blew and it dawned uponed them that their beloved team has lost the Champions League Final, they continued cheering and singing, keeping their heads up, telling the Liverpool players that they have done well and cheering them on.

Singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' when the players went up to collect their second place medals, they fought back tears....the Liverpool fans were no fair-weathered fans. They will be there, through the good times and the bad. They were Liverpool through and through. Well done Liverpool FC! You'll Never Walk Alone!

When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm is a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.

Walk on through the wind,Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never, ever walk alone.

L'Oreal Private Sale!

Went to work today as a packer for a L'Oreal private sale. It has all the brands under L'Oreal Singapore and the prices are really dirt cheap! The crowd started coming in at around 1030am and the queue stretched till it reached outside the building!
99% of the people who came for the sale are ladies(expected) but some guys did show up too. The ladies really flashed their true colours during the sale and you can see them frantically grabbing the products! (1 person limited to 5 of the same product.) It is only when they are paying up then they choose what they really wanted and returned the products they do not want to purchase. (One of the many sales tactics??) Some people even spend up till 4 digits of $$$!!! No kidding!!!
Most heard comment from customers: 'I do not actually need all these stuff!' But yet they still buy it!
I'm sure only the ladies can justify their spending spree.... Only reason i can think of? 'Because i'm worth it'

Granny's Birthday

Happy Birthday!
All the grandsons and daughters

Its my grandma's birthday today! Went over to her place after soccer to celebrate her birthday with all my extended family members. Its great to have a big family gathering once in a while seeing my cousins and the younger ones grow up. Actually, all me aunties and uncles will go down to my grandma'a place every Sunday to do some 'dry swimming' (Majong) and as we, the younger generation get older, we tend to go there less than before as we have our personal activities to occupy ourselves with. My grandma's an amazing woman, raising 9 children while working as a construction worker. Heard from my mom that she even goes to work, carry heavy loads of cement around while she was still pregnant! Although we may never have to go through the hardships that the older generations have gone through, we cannot forget the sacrifices they have made for us. They gave up their dreams so that we could live ours......

FA Cup Final

Watched the FA Cup Final between Man Utd and Chelsea at Robin's place today... Two neutrals and two Man Utd supporters were present...haha...anyway, the score was 1-0 to Chelsea courtesy to a last ditch effort during extra time by Didier Drogba. Yongguang was suppose to be there too but he could not make it as he was at downtown east...(Lazy to come down). We ganged up and tricked him saying that Chelsea was down by 2 goals in the first half and he really believed it! Haha...it was really a good laugh...can really visualise his impression. I have to be honest though...I was a little glad that Chelsea won as Man Utd has already won the EPL title last week. But had to respect the host (Man Utd supporter) so i gulped down my laughing gas and went home a happy man....(Robin told me 'AIG' which is Man Utd's sponsers stands for 'Almost in Greece'...Soccer fans should get the joke...I'm a Liverpool fan..Yeah!!) It didn't hit me until i went home and realise how fortunate i am to have wonderful friends around me...I love you guys man! (Don't think curvy guys......) Guys day out!

Went out with Grassyeo (Jason) today... went to do shopping for his year-long trip to Switzerland. He introduced me to some nice places today like Robinsons walk, a nice and romantic place to bring your girlfriends to! On the way to great world city, we saw some people playing with their UFO like aircrafts! It is flies like a plane but it looks like a flat UFO.

Anyway, they were flying around with their lights on and it looks like lots of fire flies flying around.... After the UFO encounter, Jason brought me to a shop house which has a history which dates back to 1819! The shop house, according to my expert historian, Jason Yeo, is a bank where people of the past deposit their valuables. It looks super run-down (what do you expect from 1819)... gives you kind of a wierd feeling just looking at the shop house itself...like you were being transported back to the past. I can imagine the people of 1819 walking around me, going into the bank, the sounds and noise.....

Thanks for the tour Grassyeo!

My Virgin Post!

Hey peeps! Finally got my own blog!
Hope i can share my fun and laughter to you guys in the near future!

First up, FINALLY went back to camp to collect my PINK IC today. At the same time, i was presented the letter of promotion, which was supposed to be on the 1st of May. But since i was clearing my leave, they decided to postpone it until today..haha..

Too bad...no time to put one my new rank... Having said that, i was only promoted about 7 days before i ORD(which is on the 8 of may)... sad isn't it. (2 months fitness cut)
Went to city hall after that to look at some soccer boots. On the way, i saw Julian Beever, the guy that draws anamorph pictures! I thought i only saw him on the net but he was right there in front of me! Took some pictures for you guys to see. Its amazing!
If any of you guys want to head down to have a look, its outside Raffles City Shopping Centre, nearest to St Andrew's Cathedral.
